Joining a running club is one of the best things you can do to progress your running.Whether you are an experienced runner or a total beginner, by joining a club and surrounding yourself with enthusiastic, like-minded people you are more likely to continue to run long-term.


Seeing how others, who started off just like you, have progressed and what they have accomplished will truly inspire you to achieve more than you ever thought possible.
You will meet new people and develop friendships with others who share your passion for running and understand your frustrations when you just can't get that time you've been aiming for all year! You may even meet new running partners you can train with outside of run club sessions; knowing someone else is relying on you really helps motivate you on those days when you just don't feel like getting out there.



If you have a competitive streak you can join the club's Strava league and compete for our male and female runner of the month trophy.Winning is based on the number of times you get out and run during the month so you don't have to be the best or the fastest to be in with a shout of being a winner (*).Competing on Strava segments is also a favourite pastime of some club members!

(*) Member of the month trophy is based on the number of runs of one mile or more completed during the previous calendar month.  To be entered members must have attended a minimum of two run club sessions during that month and, if they are not in the Strava league, must provide evidence of their runs in the first week of the following month. Where more than one member has completed the same number of winning runs, the one with the higher mileage will receive the award.
Member's completing running streaks of one month or more will be excluded as will anyone who has won the award on two consecutive months
